9U Senators advance to the PONY Zone Tournament
Seattle PONY Baseball & Softball is proud to announce that the 9U Seattle PONY Senators swept the NW PONY
regional tournament ending July 10th, and have advanced to the PONY Zone tournament in Walnut, California
beginning July 23th.
Their historic victory on July 10th, in Enumclaw, Washington came after a dramatic 5-run, 2-out rally in the
final inning of a game played amid dust and heat facing the MTYAA All-Star team from Mountlake Terrace.
This marks the first time the league has had a tournament team advance to this level in the PONY National
tournament in its 20-year history. Headed by coaches Key Nutall, Cameron Darweesh and Johnny Dagnen, The
Senators are an "all-star" team selected from the ranks of the Seattle PONY's spring recreational league. The 12
players selected this year hail from Mount Baker, Leschi, Madrona, Montlake, Madison Park and Capitol Hill
neighborhoods.
Tigers Win Bronco End of Season Tournament
Congratulations to the Tigers for winning the Bronco tournament by beating the Royals in the championship game!
All-Star and Tournament Team Policy
Information has been distributed to coaches, and you should be hearing from division commissioners soon, if you
haven't already. In any case, we encourage interested parents to read the league's complete All-Star and
Tournament Team policy, online at

Board of Directors is already hard at work planning for a fun, safe and competitive 2009-2010 season. We are always
looking for more help and suggestions on ways to improve the experience for our kids, so please contact us to
volunteer, to provide us with your comments, or to express your ideas and concerns.
